Many fish fillets have tiny pin bones that run along their spines, which you’ll want to remove before cooking (or else someone could choke on them). But they can be tough to find; they’re often barely visible in the fish’s flesh, and the tips stick out only slightly. So are you stuck just hunting and pecking for them?
Not with this cool trick: Turn a large mixing bowl upside down and drape the fish fillet over the bottom of the bowl. The bowl’s curvature makes the bones really pop out–so they’re plain to see and feel, and you can easily grasp each one with a pair of tweezers and pull it out.
