Just in time for the warm weather, ice makers appear to be the next hot thing (pun intended). Two new ones we liked include this Waring Clear Ice Maker (top right) and one from Chinese appliance maker Haier (bottom right). For both, you pour in roughly a gallon of water, plug them in, choose the ice-cube size, and within 10 minutes, the ice is ready.
Perfect for your next party, they can even be set up outside on a patio, or anywhere there’s an available electric outlet. The Waring produces up to 8 cups of ice, and sells for $399. The Haier retails for $249.99 and holds up to 2.5 pounds of ice.
