I don’t know about you, but my mom is kind of hard to shop for. As Mother’s Day nears, I always find myself searching high and low for fun gift ideas. Luckily, my mom is a foodie at heart, so a lot of the items that I have on hand as FC’s Great Finds editor fit the bill perfectly. Here are a few ideas that might work for your mom, too.

Candlesticks Living the Sweet Life
For the decorator:These funcandle holderswere inspired by the holes that naturally appear in cheese, and the holes allow 6 different sized candles to fit into each holder. For the foodie:Pastry chef David Lebovitz takes readers on a deliciously funny journey through Paris, his adopted city, inLiving the Sweet Life in Paris(Broadway Books, $24.95).
Chocolate Bamboo Cutting Boards
For the chocoholic:Amano Artisan Chocolatecannot be beat. Their single-origin chocolate bars are wonderful, and I especially love their new bar made from cocoa beans from Jembrana on the southwest coast of Bali. It’s rich and smooth, even at 70% cocoa. For the eco-friendly mom:Totally Bamboo’s sustainable, naturallyanti-microbial cutting boards只是有更好的,因为现在他们洗碗盘er safe! Check out their Greenlite line to see all the different shapes and sizes available.
Vermont Bacon For the carnivore cook:Vermont Smoke and Curemakes a mighty fine bacon. They’re marketing geniuses too because they sell packages of bacon ends and pieces. Chopped as you like and cooked until crispy, they are great as a garnish for salads or pastas, or use them to flavor soups, stews, and more. Their bacon is brined with pure maple syrup and smoked over ground corn cobs and maple wood shavings. Enough said!

I'm surprised that nobody has ever mention giving a hot water circulator as a gift. There simple to install, they save you from having to wait for hot water in your kitchen and bathroom everyday. When we first installed one ourselves we couldn't get over how wonderful we felt the following morning when we realized that our life has been changed forever and we won't have to waste water down the drain waiting for hot water anymore. I appreciate ours every time I go to a new clients house and see how long they've been waiting everyday. I love giving one to each of my clients once the job is done. I can't remember a client who hasn't thanked me later for solving their hot water waiting problem. That's why I think hot water circulators should be given this mothers day or at least be mention next year.

Oh Mom, you're so cute! Sorry I said that you were hard to shop for... you know that you can be! : )

As a mother of a food editor, I would say any of these gifts would be fabulous, especially if accompanied by a mush card!
