Anisette Liqueur

What is it?

Anisette is a French, aniseed-infused liqueur, with a sweeter flavor and lower alcohol content than other anise-infused liqueurs. It is made by macerating a mixture of seeds, a neutral flavored alcohol and simple syrup, and is often diluted with water. Anisette is mainly consumed and made in Italy, France, Portugal and Spain, and is not to be confused with Pastis, which is made with star anise and is not diluted.
