Among the chapters (all savory and mostly organized by main ingredient), my hands-down favorite is “Lifesavers,” which is filled with recipes for the easily made condiments that the authors call “refrigerator gold.” Indeed, their four-ingredient ginger-scallion sauce alone has already elevated my weeknight cooking deliciously.
