Off the heat, add the remaining 1/2 cup of berries and the lemon juice, and stir to combine. Transfer to a small bowl, and allow to cool completely. Refrigerate, covered with plastic wrap, until cold. The compote will keep up to a week in the refrigerator, tightly covered.
