What is it?
A mixture of turmeric, coriander, cumin, ginger, nutmeg, fennel, cinnamon, fenugreek, white pepper, (sometimes) arrowroot, cardamom, cloves, black pepper and red pepper, sweet curry powder packs the complex punch of curry powder without too much heat. It is a popular addition to many Indian dishes and a welcome ingredient to rice, chicken, vegetables, fish and more. With the components available, it is easy to make your own curry powder at home, and most Indian cooks do make their own blend according to their family traditions and personal taste.
