What is it?
A sweet, juicy melon with a smooth, creamy-yellow rind and pale green flesh. Honeydews, whose peak season is from July to September, usually weigh between 4 and 8 pounds.
How to choose:
Look for honeydews that are heavy for their size with an unblemished, creamy-yellow rind. Perfectly ripe honeydews will haveverysubtle wrinkling on their skin, often detectable only by touch.
How to store:
Allow underripe melons to ripen at room temperature. Store ripe melons in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
